Located in Silvalde Parish, Espinho Municipality, Tapeçarias Ferreira de Sá is the oldest existing company producing traditional rugs.
Well-known worldwide in the tapestry sector, originating from a small manufacturer, it was founded by Joaquim Ferreira de Sá at the beginning of the 20th century.
From a small family business, Tapeçarias Ferreira de Sá evolved to a large-scale organisation, constantly expanding and improving its factories, designing an industrial unit with a solid and automated structure, while taking care not to neglect the origins and tradition of the art of weaving.
We are the only company in the country with a large and original stock of traditional Portuguese stitch designs, the “Beiriz stitch” from the former Beiriz factory, acquired in 1971.
